This means that protection and prevention should be at the forefront of your mind when it comes to the upcoming storm season. Hurricanes have always left great impact on the southeast region of the U.S.; however, scientists have expressed growing concerns regarding intensified weather patterns, which means it is as imperative as ever to be aware, prepare your family and home, and take action. Our homes are supposed to represent refuge from daily life, but if an element like a hurricane damages our safe place, it can become a site of panic, stress, frustration, and worst-case scenarios, simply gone.
Prepare for a Hurricane
Take Basic steps to ensure your safety should a storm, hit.
Make a plan
Create a family disaster plan. Write down emergency phone numbers. Locate the nearest shelter.
Gather emergency supplies
Food and water, medicine supply, power sources etc..
Get your car ready
Fil your car with gas, park it in safe place and always keep emergency kit in your car.
Get your family and pet ready
Go over your emergency plan with your family.
Get your home ready
Clear your yard. Cover up windows and doors. Use storm shutters or nail pieces of plywood to the outside window frames to protect your windows. This can help keep you safe from pieces of shattered glass.
Be ready to evacuate or stay home
Always listen to authorities regarding whether you should evacuate or stay at home.
